OUR IMPACT STORY

Since 2009, Bidii Foundation has supported 1,144 students in the rural communities of Luyekhe and Mumias in Western Kenya. The organization has expanded to empower 126 women to financial independence. With COVID-19, Bidii Foundation saw an overwhelming increase in the number of students without access to remote learning, in need of educational support. As families lost their employment and businesses in 2021, the number of students needing tuition scholarships doubled. Your donations and support will ensure that these students continue to have access to education and opportunity.

  1. In 2022, Bidii Foundation is sponsoring a total of 150 students: 134 in high school and 16 in university. Bidii provides them tuition, books, classroom supplies, laptops and mentorship.

  2. During the pandemic school closings, Bidii Foundation provided personal protective equipment and tasked students with building hand-washing stations in their communities. Without access to remote learning, students were kept busy by participating in COVID-reponse activities in their communities.

  3. Through the women’s groups, Bidii Foundation supports 126 women by teaching them business skills and livelihood initiatives including livestock rearing. Currently, the women’s groups are profitable and some have moved on to expand their businesses.

We ask for your support to ensure these students achieve their dreams, in a world where brilliance is equally distributed but opportunity is not. We know that it takes a village and hope you will join us to truly change the trajectories and futures of these young people and the women in these communities.
